About the Songs
Each of the songs on the album has a story behind it, and we are glad to share those stories with you. Track 1 - Stand Strong Ukraine - (6:02) - This was composed as a way of showing support for the people of Ukraine. It has a feeling of strength and endurance. Enjoy! Track 2 - The Night Cannot Hold You - (5:08) - This song was composed in a single night, fueled by grief. Dr G lost a dear, dear friend who was taken way too soon. This song is for everyone who has ever lost someone dear. The driving piano forms the musical foundation for the piece while the mournful woodwinds and strings work together to weave a tapestry of a life remembered. Track 3 - All My Roads Lead to You (Unplugged) - (4:31) - This was composed as the title song for a romantic comedy. You can almost imagine the story as you listen to the song. It is light- hearted and positive, but there are moments of reflection and sadness in the song too. It is almost like a real relationship. This was the live version of the song with a minimal level of editing and compression just enough to keep it in audio bounds. Track 4 - Higher Mountain (Live) - (5:16) - This is a gospel inspired song about focusing on what is important, that higher mountain. Composing and producing this song was a deeply spiritual journey for Dr G. Track 5 - All My Roads Lead to You - (4:42) - This was composed as the title song for a romantic comedy. You can almost imagine the story as you listen to the song. It is light-hearted and positive, but there are moments of reflection and sadness in the song too. It is almost like a real relationship. Track 6 - The Night Cannot Hold You(Live) - (4:49) - This song was composed in a single night, fueled by grief. Dr G lost a dear, dear friend who was taken way too soon. This song is for everyone who has ever lost someone dear. The driving piano forms the musical foundation for the piece while the mournful woodwinds and strings work together to weave a tapestry of a life remembered. This is the live version of the song. The production of the song used the minimum reasonable compression and EQ, just enough, just enough. Track 7 - Pressus Noctis Solstice Variation - (4:57) - The song means “the pressures of the night.” The song was one of the few that the group composed and played “just because.” The last major Classical release for the group was “A Time to Go,” but most of the Range Shadows have some Classical training and just enjoy the genre. We all hope that you enjoy “Pressus Noctis.” Track 8 - Pressus Noctis - (5:15) - The song means “the pressures of the night.” The song was one of the few that the group composed and played “just because.” The last major Classical release for the group was “A Time to Go,” but most of the Range Shadows have some Classical training and just enjoy the genre. We all hope that you enjoy “Pressus Noctis.”
