2/7/2024 Fireday, Fertility Week, Sea Season, Year of the Overlord 2164 The party continued exploring the Yangan Dow’s tower, continuing upwards to the fourth floor. There they found a set of double doors, which were barred, a single door, and a staircase going upwards in the middle of the tower. The party chose to open the single door, which revealed a room with a large undead creature – some sort of zombie / flesh golem hybrid. Fortunately, it was no match for the party, which quickly dispatched the foul beast. The party returned to the double doors, and tried breaking the doors down, but to no avail. Chance cast “Dispel Magic” on the doors, which then opened easily. Inside, they found a humanoid male in bed in a deep sleep. There was a distinct odor of hamasin in the room, and the party, after checking the body in the bed, deduced that he had taken a nearly lethal amount of drugs. Remaining cautious, the party tied up the man, and delivered him to the guards waiting outside of the tower. In the room with the bed, the party also found a magic green stone that Gunther was able to identify as a one-use item to cast a magic web spell. Then, the party proceeded to go up the stairs, with Igny in the lead. The staircase led to a small room with two animated stone golems! Tempest cast “Speedart” on Maeddes, granting spirit magic to his crossbow. Maeddes hit one golem with his crossbow, and Igny attacked with Kekax. Meanwhile, Tempest cast “Guiding Bolt” and Mobec cast “Sacred Flame.” Then, the golems responded by releasing some sort of noxious gas! While most of the party was eventually able to shake off the effects, poor Rudolph was turned to stone! Garack unleashed a pair of powerful smites, downing one of the golems. Then Guther cast “Crumble Stone” on the second golem, doing immense damage to the animated stone guardian. Mobec and Tempest both hit the golem with their spells, but it remained standing and turned towards Gunther and delivered a terrible blow that knocked him out cold! Chance then cast “Eldritch Blast”, and finally the second golem fell. Out of the golem’s body fell a magical gem of great power, which the party scooped up before proceeding upwards on the next set of stairs. At the top of the stairs was a small slime creature, which delivered a note from Bilius, revealing that it was him who allowed the party to see the tower during the battle of the giant slime. Furthermore, the letter said that the Uberhobgoblin is seeking the materials to create a gate to awaken an Old One, but that the party could stop them by using their Disk of Worlds. Finally, the letter said that somewhere in the tower, Yangan Dow possessed a map of the islands of the Disk of Worlds that could aid the party. And with that the session ended. TL;DR: The party arrested a drug user and Rudolph got turned to stone.
